What is worship?

Worship is our response to what we value most. Think about what you value most…what is all of your attention, focus, affection poured into?

The things we spend our time focused on may not necessarily be bad in and of themselves, but can become what we worship when it takes all of our time, attention, affection, and when we put these “things” above and before God. Did you know you and I were actually created to worship God? That is our design (Colossians 1:16). We also are living in the time Jesus spoke about in John 4 where we can worship God in Spirit and in Truth!

One of the definitions of worship is as follows …

Worship is our response
Both personal and corporate (in a gathering)
To God
For who He is!
And what He has done!
Expressed in and by the things we say
And the way we live
(Louie Giglio – In the Air I Breathe).

After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice:
“Salvation belongs to our God,
who sits on the throne,
and to the Lamb.”
-Revelation 7:9-10

Not just music...

When we gather as a body of believers, we can express our praise and worship of God through music as a medium, although worship is not limited to music.

In our church, we rely on our sound and media people who are instrumental in our worship service. These are important behind-the-scenes roles! We offer basic training in sound and media for the needs of our worship services and special events.

Join our sound and media team

If you are interested in serving as a sound or media tech, please contact the ministry leader. There is no formal application process, but there will be training sessions and gradual onboarding.

We welcome people who have been a part of our church community for a while, who wish to join our music teams, to fill out an application form and submit it to Andrea or one of the Congregation Worship Leaders. From there, we will have an interview and audition process. Please feel free to speak to the music ministry leader for any other info.
