Why do an Alpha Course?

Guests do Alpha for a wide variety of reasons – some want to investigate whether God exists; others are concerned about what happens after death. Some people have particular questions that they would like to discuss; others want to understand other peoples’ beliefs or would like to explore what the purpose of life is.

Many guests have never been to church, others may have attended church occasionally but feel they have never really understood the basics of the Christian Faith.

We will be running two Alpha courses in 2024 on Wednesday evenings. The first Alpha course details are as follows:

Start Date: 07 February 2024

Time: 19:00 – 21:00

Location: Conradie Park Hall, Pinelands

Sign-up here.

Alpha courses are based around small groups of 8-10 people, hosted by a leader or two who will facilitate and encourage discussion.

You've got about 613,200 hours left. Why not invest less than 24 in what could be your greatest adventure?

Alpha Course weekly format

The whole Alpha course lasts 9-11 weeks, with a day away in the middle. Each session includes a meal at the start, a time for people to get to know others at their table. There is a short film with prompts for discussion. Everyone is welcome to bring their questions and discuss with the rest of the group. The emphasis is upon exploration and discovery in a relaxed and informal environment.

There is no charge for attending the Alpha course, it is run on a donation-basis. If you would like to contribute towards the food costs – meals cost between R50-R75pp. Giving details can be found hereRef: Alpha2023
